Basic Info
Name:Belle Villeneuve
Birthdate:1988
Bio

Name: Belle Villeneuve
Fandom: Beauty and the Beast
Age: 20
Current Residence: Balamb University Dorms / Powhatan
Occupation: Full time fourth year student

Personality: An intense curiosity and thirst for knowledge forms the basis of her personality. Belle consumes knowledge, and knows everything from Classical Latin to psychoanalytical theory. She is never afraid to try anything once, if not only for the fact to physically understand what was always expressed in her books. She is highly analytical, attempting to understand everything at once and what it really means. "Jack of all trades, master of none" can best describe her as well. Belle's curiosity demands her to pick up everything she can get her hands on and try it out, but once her interest in the activity is lost, it is lost forever.

Because of her knowledge, she is highly rational and intelligent, choosing to think with her head, and not her heart. Belle is only led with her heart when those extremely dear to her are hurt or injured, and her father is one of those figures. Belle, as a result, is fiercely loyal to whoever she is extremely close to, and will often sacrifice her own well being for the sake of these people.

Belle's knowledge allows her to stand up for herself, but she is neither assertive nor forceful. Belle is hardly cold, but she is aloof. The amount of time she spends with her books has resulted in some lack of social ability, although not completely debilitating. She functions more of the 'observer' or 'listener' in any social situation, choosing to watch interactions with an analytical eye, or often burying herself in a book while watching others in a public setting. Belle often seeks to develop a deep friendship with someone who she could share her dreams to, and as a result she often likes to fully indulge and understand the character whom she interacts with. She also firmly believes that love is only through the development of a friendship and not about external appearances.

Despite her intelligence, however, her idealism often betrays her. She devours fiction books with the same enthusiasm, and often imagines what their world would be like, dreaming of a life beyond this mundane one. She is cynical of the world she lives in, and while she is satisfied with the life she has, she can't help but feel her dreams are better than reality.

Biography: Belle was raised in the rural fringes of Powhatan, where as a child she would lie in the fields of gold for hours and dream up of magical unicorns and fairies. The only child to accompany her father, Maurice, this presented Belle with a fairly isolated and uneventful life, content with the countryside and the little life surrounding it.

Curiosity, however, kept asking her: "What lies beyond the golden grass?" One day, a four year old Belle decided to answer Curiosity.

Her little legs walked for hours and hours along the small dirt path, but her enthusiasm never waned. Finally, tired and dirty, she reached her destination - the city. Gaping with astonishment at the tall buildings and bustling activity, Little Belle wandered around the city, and would have perhaps been content to continue wandering if not for a stranger picking her up and, with a quick glance at her disheveled appearance, stuffed her into the local orphanage.

It took a great deal of explaining - with Belle's limited vocabulary - that she, in fact, had a father, living in "a small house covered by golden grasses and orange sky". The counselor looked dubious, and gave her a book to placate her restlessness. It was Belle's first book, and she stared in fascination as the things she dreamt of were right in front of her, on paper. Large pictures and words she couldn't decipher, but she would figure that out in time. It certainly stopped her from touching everything in sight. She stayed in the orphanage for a grand total of 3 days before her curiosity of the place waned, and she decided that she was beginning to miss her father.

She silently slipped out while no one was looking, taking the book with her, and followed the little dirt path home.

The thrilling adventure in the city would stay with her forever, despite getting increasingly cynical of society there as she grew older. Her collection of books grew as she grew, and she began to pursue education in the city. She would begin her education the usual way, although her thirst for knowledge made her rise above the others in academia. While she made very little friends in school, the characters she read about in her books would often make up for that. Her outstanding performance would allow her to skip a year in high school, enrolling in university a year earlier than the rest, under a full scholarship.

And this is how it came to be.
